Sungmin Kim

Sungmin Kim is a collaborative pianist, educator, and music director based in Arizona. He is on the piano faculty at Arizona School for the Arts and serves as Music Director at Sun Lakes United Church of Christ. He also works as a collaborative pianist at Trinity Episcopal Church in Phoenix and at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. In the summer, he is a member of the piano faculty at the Saarburg International Music Festival & School in Germany. He has previously taught at Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix.

Mr. Kim grew up in New York City, where he received his early musical training at the Special Music School and the Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman Center. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Hamilton College and earned separate Master’s degrees in Collaborative Piano and Organ Performance from Ithaca College. He is currently ABD in the Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) program in Collaborative Piano at Arizona State University, studying with Dr. Andrew Campbell and Dr. Miki Ao.
