2022 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of César Franck (1822-1890), one of the most important and influential composers for the organ. His twelve published works for Grand-Orgue lie at the center of a developing French romantic organ as envisioned by the pioneering work of organ builder Aristide Cavaillé-Coll.
Franck’s twelve works will be performed by three organists in a series of three, one hour-long concerts held on a single day; Saturday 10 December (the actual day of his birth).
The schedule for these concerts is as follows:
Concert I Erik W. Goldstrom 2:00 PM
Reception / Olney Gallery 3:00 PM
Concert II James Gerber 4:00 PM
Intermission 5:00 – 7:00 PM
